Mia was devastated by Thor’s disappearance and feared for his life she started a desperate search to find him. Friends, family and organizations like “Help Find My Child” have helped where they can but nothing can ease the trauma of your child being abducted. Thor was only 15 months old and still nursing every day when he was taken. Andrew Wang (also know as Yen-Chen Wang) has had two Emergency Protective Orders against him to shield Mia and Thor. One was issued by the police in April of 2008 and the latest issued 1/19/2009. Wang had repeatedly threatened to kidnap Thor and take him out of the country. Weeks of distress seemed to be over when this weekend baby Thor Wang and Andrew were located in Guatemala. Elated Thor’s mother Mia packed her bags and flew within hours of hearing the news to see her son, however when she got there, she found a new nightmare had begun. Thor instead of being returned to Mia has been placed in an orphanage. Mia informs us that Andrew was released despite Interpol being present with a warrant. Mia has been told Thor will remain in the orphanage and she will not be able to visit him until there has been a court hearing. Mia is currently in a hotel in Guatemala scared, distressed and needing help in understanding the language, the laws and support in bringing her only son home. Thor and Mia have been reunited!

Mia Danielsson has finally been reunited with her son. They both now live in a safe house while the investigation proceeds. In just a few days they hope to be at home in Sweden. Together with four male lawyers from Guatemala and a representative for the Swedish Embassy in Guatemala City, Mia yesterday went to the family court outside the city of Antigua.

Can be settled
There they demanded that the court procedures, earlier set to take place at May 6, would take place at an earlier date. Mia’s team of lawyers used court documents, translated into Spanish and brought from Los Angeles the day before yesterday. The documents prove that Mia has been given sole custody of her son, that was kidnapped by the child’s father, Andrew Wang, on February 12 this year.

- Given the documents, the judge may have given a verdict directly, says a person with insights in this case.

Reunited
According to sources to Aftonbladet Mia has now reunited with her son. She is not allowed to leave Guatemala at present due to the ongoing investigation, but hopes to be able to bring Thor to Sweden soon. The boy’s father, who is wanted by the Interpol and is somewhere close to Antigua, is opposing the verdict. Due to safety reasons, Mia and Thor now live in a safe house were they are protected by security guards from the American Department of Foreign Affairs.

Little baby Thor Wang has been in an orphanage there until a court hearing, there is so far no indication how long this will take, His Mother Mia is distraught she can not see him.

We want to clarify that Hannahs Hope does some amazing work in Guatemala, there is a video on their homepage which shows the love and effort that went in to creating their childrens home.

As one of the ten poorest countries in Latin America, Guatemala is home to nearly 7.1 million people living below the poverty line. Many of these are children. With an amazingly indomitable spirit, these children struggle daily for survival in unspeakable conditions.

With no government structure in place to care for these orphans, our Hannah's Hope Orphan Care Homes in Guatemala - the only homes of their kind in Guatemala - offers these children the hope for a new life. We opened our Hannah's Hope home in Guatemala in 2000. The founder, Heather Radu, had already been in Romania and witnessed firsthand the lack of quality care that needy children received. When she prayerfully came to Guatemala, she saw the same desperately poor conditions.

I flew to Guatemala and on to Antigua yesterday morning 4/18/2009.

I was allowed to see Thor, with Andrew present harassing and hurting me and Thor (pulling on me and Thor, telling me now I would loose in court in Guatemala) for 1 hour. Thor and I were denied any food or drink for hours before we could see each other, despite my desperate pleas. Court people wanted to see how Thor reacted to seeing me and let Andrew and me in a room with armed guards while they determined that Thor did not want to go to me! Andrew had several friends and an attorney present, I had Vice Consul and a U.S. State Dept. official who witnessed but could do nothing before this atrocity. It was the worst violation of human rights I have ever experienced. I was beside myself.

Then Andrew was released despite Interpol there with a warrant (which Guatemalan courts dismissed) and Thor was put in an orphanagein central Guatemala City. Andrew told authorities here that I am a danger to Thor and that I have hurt him before. Andrew is illegally here with Thor, without any papers proving he's the father. I had U.S. State Dept., Interpol and American Vice Consul Barbara Armstrong with me to court yesterday. My court papers and legal rights to Thor were ignored!

THOR WILL REMAIN WITHOUT ME BEING ABLE TO VISIT WITH HIM IN THE ORPHANAGE UNTIL A COURT HEARING HERE. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE COURT HEARING WILL BE AND I AM DEATHLY AFRAID ANDREW WILL TAKE THOR AND RUN AGAIN.

The orphanage is called Hannah's Hope, in Oakland section of town, zona 10.

I need a translator here, an attorney and funds. I am in dire straits!

Thor finns just nu på ett barnhem som heter Hannahs hope
Mia fick spendera en timme med sin son i går i ett betongrum tillsammans med 10 spansktalande personer och med Andrew i ett av hörnen.

Allt Mia kan göra nu är att vänta. Vänta på att få träffa en domare i domstol. Hon behöver visa orginaldokument från den amerikanska domaren där det står att Mia han ensam vårdnad om Thor.
Kopiorna som hon hade med sig dög tydligen inte eftersom dom var slitna.

Vi är så nära nu. Vi har hittat Baby Thor, men det är fortfarande en lång väg tillbaka innan hon får sin son.
Vi behöver fortfarande hjälp. Nu mer än nånsin.

We've just heard from Mia, she flew to Guatemala and then on to Antigua yesterday morning and she needs our support and help,

Most urgently Mia needs a translator, an attorney and funds!

If any one can help please do, little Thor is in an orphanage, and Mia not allowed to see him until a court case, with no indication when that will be, despite having all the US documents.

Action urgently needed!

Thor has been found in Guatemala.

On Friday Mia got an inportant call from the Police, they wanted to meet with her emediatly, after a long talk with the police Mia had to go home and pack her bag.. at 9 Pm she went back to the Sheriff station and began her mission.

Well at Guatemala Mia lives at a hotell (Barcelo) and waits for the judge to see her in court. She needs to show them the Original document of her being the legal costudy parent for thor..

The judge wants to see the legal American paper from the American judge, because the documents she brought were to fussy.

We are calling everybody we know and all our family to ask them for help…

She has seen thor for less than an hour in a small room with Andrew in one corner and 10 peoples speaking spanish.

We are so near but now we really need all help we can get…

I´ll write more when i can and upgrade you´ll when i know more.. just wanted to spread the word…

A desperate mother is making a plea for help to find her child. After a bitter divorce, the court gave her custody. But almost a month ago, she says her ex-husband disappeared with their 16-month old son.
