Father Wins Custody Fight, Despite Mother's Claims
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — A Scioto County judge on Tuesday awarded custody of a 5-year-old girl to her father, after her mother spent months in jail, for keeping her away from him.
Cherish Lewis left the courthouse with her lawyers, but not her daughter, 10TV's Cara Connelly reported.
Lewis spent eight months in jail for refusing to allow her daughter Jaelyn to see her father, Stephen Rice.
Rice had joint custody, but Lewis claimed he was an unfit parent, Connelly reported.
Rice has denied that claim, and a judge agreed, ordering Jaelyn be returned to her father.
Rice lives in Florida, but was planning to reunite with his daughter.

An arrest warrant was obtained 11/08/09 on Jessica D Lewis for interference with custody. Jaelyn is thought to be with her.
Wheelersburg Child Missing
A child missing from Wheelersburg is officially listed on the Web site for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and her mother is in the Scioto County Jail on contempt charges.
Jaelyn Rice, a 4-year-old, described as having blonde hair and blue eyes, has been missing since July 16, but did not become listed as missing until last week when her father, Stephen A. Rice, of 4813 West Flamingo Road, Tampa, Fla., issued a missing persons report. Prior to the filing, the incident was being treated as a domestic dispute because the mother reportedly knows where the child is but refuses to give the whereabouts of the child to authorities.
The mother, Cherish N. Lewis, of 709 Herms Hill Road, Wheelersburg, is incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail, and according to Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini, has been ordered to remain in jail until she reveals the whereabouts of the child.
Judge Frederick W. Crow III, was assigned to hear the case after a conflict in the original case, involving Judge David Spears in Scioto County Domestic Relations Court, resulted in that court contacting the Ohio Supreme Court for someone to come in and hear the case.

Also states that she has a scar on the right side of the forhead and underneath right side of arm from surgery.
Last seen on 06-12-09 in Wheelersburg, Ohio. It also sates last seen om 07/30/09
So there is some confusion here about when she was last seen.

Jaelyn Rice Missing
Please help us get Jaelyn's face out! Please contact CNN and the Scioto County Ohio Sheriffs Department to get medeia involved. Jaelyn is in danger and is missing. Her father and step mom have custody. The biological mother had visitation for the summer, and recently was supposed to give her back. Now she has been put in jail for not revealing her where abouts. Jaelyn's maternal grandparents claim to have no idea where she is either. Its been almost two weeks since the bio mom has been in jail and still no word on little jaelyn. Please do all you can to get her in the media and post her picture up!
