Known Circumstances:

Victoira Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 16 year old Freya Milne, who has been missing from the family home in Fairfield since midnight, February 1, 2010, when she was last seen going to bed. Her parents woke up next morning to find her gone.

She has no previous history and has never gone missing before and the police and her family are gravely concerned for her well being based on the contents of a note left in her bedroom.

The VicPD’s Marine Response Unit and the Provincial Emergency Program’s Search and Rescue personnel are currently searching the shoreline along Dallas Road and in Beacon Hill Park.

Sadly, the body of Freya Milne was found in Ross Bay

The body of 16-year-old Freya Milne, reported missing Tuesday, was found at about 11 p.m. last night in six metres of water in Ross Bay

Father Peter Ronald, provincial co-ordinator for the B.C. Sustainable Energy Association, posted a note on Facebook Wednesday about Freya.

“Thank you to everyone for your love and concern,” Ronald wrote. “Freya was an exceptional human being and remains an indomitable spirit.”

The girl’s parents said she suffered from an anxiety disorder.

Milne was last seen at 9 p.m. Monday. Her parents awoke the next morning to find their daughter gone and a note that concerned police.

An exhaustive search was launched immediately along Dallas Road and the around Beacon Hill Park, said Sgt. Grant Hamilton.

Hamilton said it’s not the result police were hoping for and officers involved in the search were “dejected and saddened.”

“The Victoria Police department extends its sympathies and condolences to the family,” Hamilton said.

Freya Milne's body was found late last night

Police seek public help to find teen

Freya Milne, a Fairfield resident and student at Esquimalt High School, was last seen around 9 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2010. When her family woke yesterday at about 6 a.m., she was no longer in the house.

She had left a note that's of concern to police, said Victoria police spokesman Sgt. Grant Hamilton. Freya's parents say she suffers from an anxiety disorder.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Victoria Police at 250-995-7654.
